Sources close to Homeboyz have confirmed to Mozzart Sport that the experienced center-back is set to "return home," with the club in the final stages of sealing a deal that will see one of its former defensive leaders reunite with the Kakamega-based outfit ahead of the new FKF Premier League season.

The move comes just days after Momanyi officially announced his departure from Tusker in an emotional farewell message shared on his Facebook page, bringing to an end a successful chapter that saw him rise from assistant captain to club captain.

"Wearing the Tusker colors has been one of the greatest moments of my football career," Momanyi wrote.

The defender thanked the club's management, coaches, technical staff, teammates, and supporters for standing by him throughout his journey.

"The responsibility of leading the team as captain is a privilege I will always cherish. It taught me valuable lessons, and I leave wishing the club continued success and many more trophies," he added.

Momanyi leaves the Brewers as one of the club's most influential figures in recent years. He played a pivotal role in Tusker's 2020/21 FKF Premier League title triumph before establishing himself as one of the league's most consistent defenders and eventually taking over the captaincy.

Before joining Tusker, the towering defender enjoyed a successful spell at Gor Mahia, winning multiple FKF Premier League titles while also featuring for the club in CAF interclub competitions.

His anticipated return is a major statement of intent from Kakamega Homeboyz, who have quietly emerged as one of the busiest clubs in the transfer market.

The club is understood to be aggressively strengthening its squad as it targets a strong campaign next season.

Momanyi's arrival is expected to be one of several signings Homeboyz are preparing to complete, with more additions likely to follow in the coming days.

Should the deal be finalized, Homeboyz will not only be bringing back a familiar face but also a proven leader whose experience, defensive solidity, and winning mentality could prove invaluable in the club's ambitions for the new season.
