Serbian club FK Vojvodina is set to activate the buyout option in Kenyan international central defender Collins Sichenje's contract, Mozzart Sport understands.
Sichenje joined Vojvodina at the start of July on a six-month loan from Sweden's top-tier side AIK in search of regular game time.
The 20-year-old towering defender did not get any playing time at AIK during the spring season and the summer pre-season, prompting the need for a new home.
Now, according to media reports in Sweden, Sichenje is not expected to return to AIK, with the Serbian outfit deciding to exercise the purchase option when the current loan terms end.
The former AFC Leopards defender has already featured in two matches for the club but missed the second league game of the season over the weekend, where they lost to Cukaricki.
"They will use the purchase option, something that Fotbolldirekt reported was underway a while ago. Thus, the centre-back will transfer to Vojvodina permanently when the loan agreement expires at the turn of the year.
It is unclear exactly when it all becomes official, and it could be quite a while before Sichenje's move is made public. However, he is thereby leaving AIK, who will, however, receive a transfer fee for the player," stated Swedish publication Sportbladet.

Sichenje began his career at Kakamega High School’s Green Commandos before joining AFC Leopards in 2019.
After two years with AFC Leopards, he moved briefly to Greece, signing for PAOK, before returning to AFC Leopards in 2022.
Later that year, he moved to Sweden, joining AIK in a deal that saw AFC Leopards receive Ksh6 million in compensation.
A full Kenyan international, Sichenje primarily plays as a central defender but is known for his versatility, capable of playing in defensive or attacking midfield positions as well.
