As part of the country’s preparations to successfully host the tournament, Hussein toured Morocco for benchmarking.
In an interview with FKF Media, he revealed some of the lessons he picked from the tournament that concluded on Sunday.
“It is important to stay focused on how we organize our events and make sure that we keep improving on the standards.
I have learnt that there is no compromise in terms of quality, organization and commitment to achieve success. Morocco has set a new bar and standards,” said Mohammed.
The FKF honcho also appreciated the Confederation of African Football (CAF) leadership, who have ensured that the Morocco edition is a success.
“CAF, led by President Patrick Motsepe and Secretary General Veron Mosengo-Omba, who is leading the secretariat, have done a good job too, and I am impressed.
We have a lot of learning to do-and I am honored to lead the Kenyan delegation in doing so,” he added.
Morocco did exceptionally well, particularly in the transport sector, as teams, tournament officials and media personnel had easy access to their workstations.
Fans also accessed the stadiums easily.
Hussein remains confident that the government will find a solution to Nairobi's traffic jam before 2027 AFCON.
The government has already announced the construction of a commuter line between the Central Business District (CBD) and Talanta Stadium.
The plan includes having a station at the Nyayo National Stadium.
“The government has shown commitment to improving infrastructure across the country and not just for sports. I am sure that the work going on behind the scenes is massive, and as President Ruto promised, we will stop at nothing to ensure sports development.
The relationship between the government and FKF is good. I am confident everything will be done to ensure the transport system is developed,” he added.
