
FKF reveals when Gor Mahia will start their Premier League title defence

Football Kenya Federation (FKF), through its Leagues and Competitions committee, has released the official calendar for the 2026-2027 season, outlining key dates for kick-offs and player registration across various competitions.
According to a communication issued by the federation, the new football season will officially get underway in August, with the FKF Premier League set to kick off on Saturday 22, August 2026.

The National Super League (NSL) will begin a week later on Saturday 29, August while the FKF Division One League is scheduled to commence on Saturday 12, September.
In the women's competitions, the FKF Women's Premier League will start on Saturday 5, September with the FKF Women's National Super League getting underway a week later on Saturday 12, September.
The FKF Women's Division One League is slated to begin on Saturday, 19 September .
FKF has also outlined the player registration windows ahead of the new campaign.
Registration for FKF Premier League clubs will open at midnight on Sunday 21, June and remain active until Friday 21, August just a day before the start of the season.
For National Super League clubs, the registration period will run from June 26 to August 28, while Division One teams will be allowed to register players between July 1 and September 4.
In the women's leagues, registration for the FKF Women's Premier League will run from June 28 to September 4.
Clubs competing in the FKF Women's National Super League will register players from July 1 to September 11, while FKF Women's Division One teams will have from July 3 until September 18 to complete their registrations.
The release of the new calendar provides clubs, players, and stakeholders with a clear roadmap ahead of what promises to be another exciting football season.
The 2025-2026 campaign concluded with Gor Mahia reclaiming the FKF Premier League title, while Migori Youth were crowned NSL champions to secure promotion to the top flight.
In women's football, Police Bullets lifted the FKF Women's Premier League crown, while Shabana Starlets emerged champions of the FKF Women's National Super League.
