PSG defender vows to prove his innocence in court
Evidence has been gathered, the case has passed through the Court of Appeal, and it will now be referred to the Departmental Criminal Court. Achraf Hakimi will stand trial for rape. The Court of Appeal in Versailles confirmed today that Hakimi will face trial for rape, rejecting the appeal filed by the Paris Saint-Germain and Morocco right-back against the decision to indict him. The proceedings have been ongoing since February 2023, and throughout that time one of the world's best full-backs has consistently denied any wrongdoing.

“The investigations conducted during the preliminary judicial inquiry led the investigating chamber to conclude that there is sufficient evidence against Mr. Achraf Hakimi to justify referring him to the Hauts-de-Seine Departmental Criminal Court,” the Court of Appeal stated.
And now, since his appeal has been rejected, the player himself shared a statement via social media.
“The court looked me in the eye and said, 'If you weren't famous, there would never have been a case.' I chose to remain silent for years. I thought that remaining dignified, being patient, and trusting in the justice system would allow the right decisions to be made. Today, a story that isn’t mine is being told at the expense of my family, my life, and above all, the truth. I sometimes feel like I’ve become an easy target. I’ve been waiting for this trial since day one. And now I’m eagerly awaiting it. Finally, I’ll be able to speak" Hakimi wrote on his X account.
The incident was reported on Sunday, February 26th 2023, but actually happened the day before, according to the then 23-year-old girl, who reported Hakimi to the police. She indicated that she did not wish to file a complaint, but "to make a statement of rape". According to her statement, she met Hakimi on Instagram on January 16th and on Saturday 25th, the player ordered an Uber car to drive her to his house in Boulogne.
