Harambee Stars defender Lewis Bandi has laid bare his season’s target after making his Gor Mahia debut on Saturday, 31 January, six months after crossing over from AFC Leopards.
The former AFC Leopards captain signed for K’Ogalo in August 2025 while representing Kenya at the 2024 African Nations Championships (CHAN).

However, an injury suffered in training prevented the 23-year-old from representing both his new club and the country.
Bandi made his return to the pitch, coming on as a substitute in the 80th minute in Gor Mahia’s 3-0 win over Sofapaka over the weekend.
Speaking to the club’s media after the match, Bandi expressed his FKFPL title ambitions.
“This season, we are trying our best to win the league and the Mozzart Bet Cup. We are going for two trophies, nothing less than that,” said Bandi.
Should Gor Mahia go ahead and lift the title, it would be Bandi’s first major club football trophy after failing to do so in his four-year stay at Ingwe.
The marauding full back also opened up on his injury struggles and the overwhelming love he received from K'Ogalo faithful when he came on.
“I thank God for this opportunity, and I thank my coaches and teammates for encouraging me throughout the season. I had a long-term injury, but now I am back.
It was just a few minutes, but I am glad it was a proper win to welcome me back. It feels good to be back on the pitch and to feel the fans recognizing you,” he stated.
The AFC Leopards youth team graduate will now fight for a place in the team with the on-form Paul Ochuoga and captain Philemon Otieno.
Bandi is expected to start in Gor Mahia’s Mozzart Bet Cup clash with Dero FC on Saturday, 7 February, where coach Charles Akonnor is expected to rotate his squad.
