Kenya’s campaign will begin on Sunday, 3 August, against DR Congo at the Moi International Sports Center, Kasarani, from 3 pm.

The highly anticipated match, which will also serve as the country's debut in the biennial continental championship, will be staged at Kasarani Stadium.

Tickets for the match were strictly sold online, with the ticketing firm confirming that all gate passes had been sold out as of the morning of Monday, 28 July.

Selling of tickets began on Wednesday, 23 July, with a variety on offer at different prices.

Fans had to part with Kshs 200 and 500 for the ordinary and silver categories, respectively.

After its renovation and upgrading, the seating capacity of Kasarani was reduced from 60,000 to 48,603. Of the current sitting capacity, 3,248 accounts for the VIP area and 203 for the VVIP area.

VIP and VVIP tickets were not up for sale as they are a preserve of guests and other top CAF and Kenyan government officials and will be issued by the Local Organizing Committee (LOC).

This, therefore, means that a total of 44,613 tickets that were available for sale have since been sold out.

Fans who were waiting for last-minute purchases have taken to various social media platforms to lament the development.

However, those who were unable to purchase tickets will have an opportunity to follow the match live on the national broadcaster, KBC.
