Achraf Hakimi was the key figure in PSG’s 3–0 victory over Brest, a win that temporarily returned the capital club to first place

Paris Saint-Germain defeated Brest 3–0 at Francois Le Bleu in their Round 9 Ligue 1 clash.

Two things are certain: death and a PSG victory at Francois Le Bleu. The Parisians hadn’t won as visitors to Brest since 1991.

Luis Enrique once again fielded a strong lineup, notably combining his two young strikers, Seny Mailoul and Quentin Enguantu, the latter coming on late in the match.

Brest were particularly motivated and far from weak, but PSG simply has class. A scorching pass from Vitinha to Achraf Hakimi in the 29th minute sliced through the home defense, and 10 minutes later the same player, this time assisted by Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, scored the second goal. The first goal is HERE, the second is HERE!

Hakimi celebrated by burying his face in his hands, recreating the famous Reggie Miller gesture. In 12 matches this season, the Parisian right-back has been involved in five goals.

Brest had a chance to pull one back in the second half to make the game more interesting. Kang-in Lee handled the ball, prompting a lengthy VAR review, but referee Jeremy Pinar ultimately made the call himself after several checks.

However, Roman del Castillo slipped and sent the ball well over the goal of Luca Chevalier. Brest had a few solid counterattacks, but PSG, boosted by the introductions of Ousmane Dembele and Desire Doue, created excellent chances that went unconverted.

The final opportunity did not go to waste — Desire Doue received a perfect ball, raced forward, and beat Majewski to seal the victory. The goal is HERE!

With the win, PSG moves up to 20 points, while Brest remain on nine, ending their four-game unbeaten streak.
