Hammers confirm Lopetegui's sack, Graham Potter is back

Graham is not Harry but will need powerful magic to fix everything the Spaniard blemished

David Moyes is currently sitting somewhere and smiling with joy. After bringing West Ham their second major European trophy, the UEFA Conference League, in 2023, the Englishman was "chased away" at the end of the next season and replaced with Julen Lopetegui.

However, after only a little more than six months at London Stadium, the Spaniard's spell in the capital of England is over, as he was sacked earlier today. West Ham's poor form and only 14th spot in the Premier League, as well as the unattractive playing style, cost Lopetegui his job.

Yet, according to The Athletic journalist, David Ornstein, the Hammers have already found Lopetegui's replacement - former Brighton and Chelsea boss Graham Potter. The Englishman does share the last name with the popular J.K. Rowling's character, Harry, but won't have a magic wand at his disposal, though he would probably need one to fix everything his predecessor blemished.

The situation that awaits the 49-year-old in London is far from ideal. West Ham are in for a very challenging schedule in the upcoming six Premier League rounds, while two crucial attacking figures, Jarrod Bowen and Michail Antonio, are both sidelined. In the end, one can only wish good luck to Potter. He'll need it.
