The squad largely retains the core of players who featured during the recent FIFA Women’s Series matches in Nairobi, with Emily Morang’a and Vivian Shiyonzo returning to the national team set-up.
The team will report to camp on Friday, 29 May, before departing for Zambia on Wednesday, 3 June, ahead of the regional tournament.
Kenya will open their campaign against Zimbabwe on Saturday, 6 June, before facing hosts Zambia on Tuesday, 9 June.
The tournament forms part of Harambee Starlets’ preparations for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco and will offer the technical bench another opportunity to assess the squad against quality opposition.
Kenya will be making their second appearance at WAFCON, 10 years after their debut in 2016.
Odemba said the tournament will play a key role in helping the team continue building cohesion and gaining valuable international experience ahead of the continental showpiece.
“We will use these matches to continue building the team and exposing the players to competitive international football ahead of WAFCON,” said Odemba.
“Our target is to arrive at the tournament ready to compete at the highest level. We want to challenge ourselves, push for a place in the semi-finals and give ourselves a chance of qualifying for the World Cup.”
