Kenya was confirmed for the FIFA Series in mid-January, joining a global initiative designed to give national teams meaningful exposure across different confederations.
Harambee Stars were drawn in Group A alongside the Estonia national football team, Grenada, and hosts Rwanda, with all matches scheduled in Kigali from Monday, 23 to Tuesday, 31 March 2026.
The Benni McCarthy-coached side will begin their campaign on Friday, 27 March, against Estonia, who are handled by Jürgen Henn.
On the same day, Rwanda will face Grenada before the losers of the two opening fixtures meet three days later.
The winners will also clash on the same date to determine the group standings.
Harambee Stars' opponent, Estonia, heads into the tournament ranked 130th in the latest FIFA World Rankings.
The European side experienced fluctuations throughout 2025, rising to 121st in April before slipping to 126th in July and eventually dropping five places to 130th, placing them close to teams such as Rwanda and Malaysia.
The centralised venue format ensures the teams play high-quality friendlies while minimising fixture congestion.
For Harambee Stars, the tournament offers a chance to test themselves against varied styles from Europe, the Caribbean and Africa.
Coach McCarthy and his technical bench will be handed a valuable platform to experiment tactically, build squad cohesion and assess players ahead of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), which Kenya will co-host alongside Uganda and Tanzania.
Harambee Stars head into the series on the back of a mixed 2025 campaign.
They opened their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying run with a thrilling 3-3 draw against The Gambia before falling 2-1 to Gabon.
Kenya responded with a commanding 5-0 win over Seychelles in September but later suffered a 3-1 home defeat to The Gambia.
The year concluded with friendlies in Turkey, where Harambee Stars narrowly lost 1-0 to Equatorial Guinea before enduring an 8-0 annihilation to Senegal.
The FIFA Series in Kigali now presents an opportunity to bridge that gap, with McCarthy expected to cast his net wide and assess a broader pool of players who have emerged in recent months.
