Harambee Stars midfielder extends stay with Armenian club

Harambee Stars midfielder Alwyn Tera has extended his stay at Ararat Armenia after renewing his contract with the Armenian club on Wednesday, 1 April.

Tera, 29, had been expected to see out his contract with Ararat on 30 June, but landed a deal that will see him stay with the team for at least another season.
“Our midfielder Alvin Tera prolonged the contract with Ararat-Armenia,” the top-tier club posted on Wednesday, without detailing the exact length of the contract renewal. “Together we continue to fight because #TogetherWeCan.”
The contract extension is Tera’s second at Ararat since his acquisition on 9 July 2021.
The last time he neared his contract expiry was in 2025, when Arararat responded with a one-year extension that would have lasted till the end of the current 2025-2026 season.
The former Laiser Hill Academy midfielder has featured in 14 league games for Ararat this season, without finding the net or assisting.
The Kenyan has, however, been a reliable man for Ararat for the better part of this year, featuring in all of his team’s matches, and is currently on a run of seven consecutive team appearances.
His last showing was in Ararat’s 2-2 draw with Van on 20 March, and he is expected to be in his team’s lineup against Shirak Gyumri in the Armenian Cup quarter-finals on Thursday, 2 April.
Since crossing over from Georgian giants Saburtalo, Tera this season finds himself on the verge of lifting his first Armenian League title, with Ararat separated from leaders Pyunik Yerevan only on goal difference, and with the end of the season approaching.
Coincidentally, Ararat face Pyunik on Saturday, 11 April, in what will be a potential title decider.
