Fulham winger made his 300th Premier League appearance yesterday against Newcastle, becoming the first Nigerian to achieve such an accomplishment, as well as the fourth African with 300+ EPL matches
Fulham and their fans will most likely want to forget yesterday's clash and a 2-1 defeat against Newcastle, but it will remain etched in Alex Iwobi's mind forever, as he made his 300th Premier League appearance!
The Cottagers winger became the first Nigerian with 300 EPL games and the one with most matches in this league, leaving behind legends like Shola Ameobi, Nwankwo Kanu, Yakubu Aiyegbeni, John Obi Mikel, Joseph Yobo...

At the same time, Iwobi became only the fourth African with 300+ matches in England's top flight, alongside the record-holder Kolo Toure (Ivory Coast, 353), Mohamed Salah (Egypt, 309), and Wilfried Zaha (Ivory Coast, 305).

The Fulham midfielder is the first Nigerian to reach this milestone.

The 29-year-old played most EPL games with Everton (123), while his spells with Arsenal and Fulham brought him 100 and 77 appearances, respectively.
Given Iwobi's age and importance in Marco Silva's squad, it's fair to expect him in the Premier League for several more years. Then, even the number of 400 matches won't be far, while Toure's African record is very likely to be broken.
