Jovic rescues toothless Milan against Fiorentina at San Siro

The Serbian striker nets for the second Serie A round in a row, but it wasn't enough for a home win against his former side (2-2)

Milan have pushed themselves away from the Europa League after a disappointing 2-2 home draw against Fiorentina on Saturday night.

The Rossoneri were eager to reduce the gap to Fiorentina to just a point, but a disastrous start to the game saw the visitors going two goals up early on.

Yunus Musah gave it away cheaply in the final third before Malick Thiaw accidentally hit it into his own net in an attempt to clear it near the line in front of Moise Kean. Just moments later, it was 2-0 as Kean himself volleyed it this time from not more than five yards to double the lead.

Sergio Conceicao's men were able to bounce back, though, as Pulisic headed it home from eight yards following an action with Tammy Abraham.

Still, Fiorentina's former player, Luka Jovic, rescued Milan from the abyss, scoring the second-half equalizer. Tomori's through ball was meant for Gimenez, but it went beyond him and the Serbian striker pounced on it, putting it past De Gea for 2-2.

That was Jovic's second Serie A game in a row in which he was able to find the back of the net. The Portuguese tactician definitely needs to consider a few changes in his starting XI in the upcoming games if he wants to save his job and Milan's dignity.
