Kapchanga, who missed rounds six, seven, and eight due to an injury, said he was keen on becoming the best scorer in the competition
After winning his team maximum points for the second time in the season, Murang'a Seal forward Titus Kapchanga feels that he is ripe to contest for the Golden Boot award.
Kapchanga struck the winning goal when Seal beat the Nairobi City Stars 2-1 on Wednesday at St. Sébastian Park to hand the team its fifth win of the season.
He was consequently named man of the match as he also grabbed an assist in the game that saw City Stars finish with ten men after Kelvin Etemesi was sent off.
This was not the first time Kapchanga scored a goal that guaranteed Seal maximum points in the league, as he scored the sole goal that inspired the team to a 1-0 win over Kakamega Homeboyz in round one.
The goal against Homeboyz saw him open his goal account in the top flight for his second stint in the campaign.
Kapchanga, who missed rounds six, seven, and eight due to an injury, said he was keen on becoming the best scorer in the competition.
Currently, Gor Mahia forward Benson Omala leads the scorer's chart with seven goals, with FC Talanta's Erick Ombija coming in second with four.
"I am happy to be back on the team with a goal. I missed the last three rounds due to an injury. It excites me to give the team three points again. I want to keep on scoring and hopefully be the best in the league at the end of the season," said the former Kariobangi Sharks forward.
Seal were largely expected to struggle in their maiden season in the top flight, but the Gabriel Kingi-coached side has defied odds to be in the top three brackets behind Gor and Posta Rangers.
The top three teams boast the meanest defenses in the league so far, having conceded four goals each.
Seal got promoted alongside Shabana, who clinched the National Super League title.
