Wekesa says he wants to score ten goals in the remaining 19 matches of the season.
KCB forward Curtis Wekesa says his goal is to score atleast 10 goals in the remaining 19 league matches and hopefully get a recall to the Kenya U23 team.
The attacker who joined the Bankers in January is striving to rediscover the 2019 form that saw Gor Mahia sign him from Nairobi Stima. However, a horrific knee injury shortly after joining the record champions ended his Gor career before it had even started.
He is back after surgery that kept him out for a year and he says he is feeling good and is glad to be enjoying football once again.
“It has been a long journey back from the injury but I am glad that I am slowly picking up once again. The recovery from my knee injury was a challenging one but I want to thank my family and friends for the support they gave me during the process,” he told Mozzzart Sport.

On Saturday, Wekesa scored a goal in a friendly match against Ulinzi Stars and is optimistic of banging even more when the league resumes.
“In the 19 remaining matches, I want to score at least ten goals. I know my abilities and this is a target I can achieve with help from my teammates. I am going to push myself, I want to hit my best levels,“ he added.
Wekesa featured for the Kenya U23 team in 2019 and he is eyeing a recall to the team.
“I want to play for the national team again and I can only achieve this if I perform well for my club. I want to play for the Kenya U23 and the senior team in future,” he concluded.
The Bankers are set to meet log leaders Tusker FC when the league resumes this weekend.
