The highly rated shot stopper joins the club ahead of the new season, after Lakatamia finished fourth in the 2025/26 Cypriot Women's First Division campaign.

The Cypriot outfit confirmed the signing on its official social media platforms.

"Welcome, international goalkeeper from Kenya, Ephy Awuor. We wish her a season full of health and success."

Awuor heads to Cyprus with experience at both youth and international levels.

She was part of the Junior Starlets squad that made history by becoming the first Kenyan football team to feature at a FIFA tournament after qualifying for the 2024 FIFA U17 Women's World Cup.

She is expected to bolster Lakatamia's goalkeeping department as the club aims to push higher up the league table during the upcoming campaign.

Founded from the legacy of Enosis Neon THOI Lakatamia, the club has established itself as a competitive force in Cypriot women's football by combining experienced local players with international talent.

The move also allows Awuor to continue her development in European football, as she targets a regular place in the Harambee Starlets senior squad.

Meanwhile, Harambee Starlets forward Violet Nanjala Wanyonyi has completed a move to Maltese top-flight side Hibernians FC Women from Saudi Arabian club United Eagles FC.

The former Moroccan Women's Championship Golden Boot winner was unveiled by the Paola-based club, which described her as a pacey and versatile attacker with a proven eye for goal.

"We are delighted to announce the signing of Violet Nanjala Wanyonyi. A Kenyan international forward, the 2024/25 Moroccan Women's Championship Golden Boot winner, and a CAF Women's Champions League participant with Vihiga Queens. A proven goalscorer with blistering pace and versatility across the front line," the club said.

Nanjala joins one of Malta's most successful women's clubs, with Hibernians regularly competing for domestic honours and representing the country in the UEFA Women's Champions League.

The club is rebuilding its squad ahead of the 2026/27 season after finishing third in the Maltese Women's Premier League behind champions Mġarr United and runners-up Swieqi United.
