
Kenyan representatives part of delegation picking lessons from Morocco in preparation for 2027 AFCON

Kenyan representatives are part of a wider delegation from East Africa that are currently in Morocco for an observer mission at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

The group, which also comprises of officials from Uganda and Tanzania, are partaking the mission as part of knowledge exchange between CAF, the current host Nation Morocco, and the three co-hosts of the next CAF Africa Cup of Nations in 2027.
Over the last few days, the delegation has visited a number of different areas in the event, including stadiums, media centres, and security institutions.
The programme commenced on Friday, 9 January, with a visit to the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.
The delegation observed live matchday operations during the quarter-final fixture between Morocco and Cameroon, allowing them to gain direct exposure to critical areas such as stadium management, security coordination, media flow, spectator services and competition operations.
As part of the wider programme, the delegation also toured Al Medina Stadium and the Complexe Sportif Prince Moulay Hassan – two of the four competition venues in Rabat.
©CAF OnlineIn addition to stadium operations, the delegation visited the Main Media Centre (MMC) in Rabat, which accommodates over 1,000 accredited journalists and serves as the central hub for all official press conferences and media activities.
The visit offered valuable exposure to the scale and coordination required for international broadcast and media.
The programme further included strategic visits to the African Police Cooperation Centre in Rabat, highlighting security collaboration frameworks, as well as to the AFCON Fan Zones, which have become an essential component of CAF competitions in enhancing fan engagement.
