Kipkirui under pressure to deliver first City Stars goal

Striker is yet to break theduck since ditching Gor Mahia for league returnees, City Stars

Two months down the line and former Former Gor Mahia forward Nicholas Kipkirui is yet to break his is goal duck at Nairobi City Stars.

Pressure is mounting as the transfer hobbles towards the dreaded label of 'flops.

Kipkirui controversially ditched the record champions for the league returnees in March but he has strangely failed to hit the target in the three matches he has played.

The former national U23 player made his City Stars debut during their two all draw against Tusker in March coming in the second half for Rodgers Okumu

Kipkirui, revealed that he was desperately looking to break the duck in the blue and white robes and help the club achieve its objectives of the season.

"I can't wait to net my first City Stars goal for I want to get the pressure off my shoulders. I am dead sure that once I get off the mark, I will be scoring for fan like I used to do before," he said.

The former Zoo FC man disclosed that he was relying on the confidence from coach Sanjin Alagic whom he equated his professionalism to the duo of Steven Polack and Hassan Oktay to rediscover his lost form.

Kipkirui worked under the two league winning coaches for the last three years at Gor Mahia. 

He said the Bosnian gaffer had a soft spot for his style of play and had confided to him of trust in shoulder the goal scoring responsibilities.

"I am lucky to have Alagic as my coach. He always encourages me to keep pushing. He has shown patience and confidence in me and the best way to reward him is by scoring consistently," he added.
