Mokwena guided Masandawana to their 12th league title last season

Mamelodi Sundowns co-Head Coach Rulani Mokwena completed his five day visit with Uganda's Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA ) FC on Tuesday.

The South African professional football manager was in Uganda from June 17 to June 21 and was involved in the team's training during that period of the visit whose purpose was knowledge sharing with the technical team of the Ugandan side.

Rulani had been invited by the KCCA FC management and which was in line with the Club’s Five Years Strategic Plan under the Key Result area 5 which is Strategic Partnerships and Alliances.

“I’m happy to be here. Thank you KCCA for hosting us in this fantastic city. Our visit is not a one-sided exchange because we have also learnt a lot from the club and would like to thank KCCA for supporting sports,” Mokwena said on his last day.

Thus, the objective of the visit was to leverage new existing collaborations, create a competitive advantage for the club, and broaden the club’s capabilities.

Ex Uganda Cranes skipper Denis Onyango who is also a player at Mamelodi Sundowns FC has been a key factor in ensuring Rulani’s visit to KCCA FC comes to fruition.

The youthful tactician was Mamelodi Sundowns' assistant coach in 2017, serving as Pitso Mosimane's understudy when the South African side met with KCCA FC in the first round of the CAF Champions League at the MTN Omondi Stadium.
