The Harambee Stars attacker sustained a fresh injury during Shabana’s Mozzart Bet Cup quarter-final clash against Kenya Police FC last weekend, with the club later confirming the nature of the setback as a Grade 1 tibialis posterior contusion.

The development compounds what has already been a difficult campaign for the influential forward, whose season has been repeatedly disrupted by fitness concerns.

In an official communication, the club expressed their support for the player, stating:

“Quick recovery, Millionaire Brian Michira Migiro M10. You are a fighter, and you will come back stronger. Injury type: Tibialis posterior contusion (Grade 1).”

The latest injury is understood to be an aggravation of a previous problem sustained earlier in the season in October, shortly after featuring in the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN), which sidelined Michira for nearly 12 weeks.

His return had offered renewed hope to the Tore Bobe faithful, but this recurrence now casts a shadow over both the player’s campaign and the club’s ambitions.

Speaking to Mozzart Sport, Michira did not hide his disappointment, reflecting on a season that has fallen short of both collective and personal expectations.

Despite flashes of brilliance, the forward has struggled for continuity, a factor he believes has ultimately derailed his pursuit of the Golden Boot.

“It is a big setback because I had ambitions for the season, especially after falling short last time by just five goals,” Michira said.

“Had I been fully fit throughout, the story could have been different. I had set a target of over 15 goals, which would have put me in a strong position to win the Golden Boot.”

Before the latest setback, Michira had managed a commendable return of 10 goal contributions—scoring seven and assisting three, highlighting his importance to the team whenever available.

His early-season form had signalled a potential breakthrough year, building on last season’s near-miss when he finished five goals behind the defending league’s top scorer, Moses Shumah, who claimed the accolade with 17 goals.

Michira’s absence is now set to rule him out of Shabana’s final five matches of the season, including crucial fixtures against Mara Sugar FC, Sofapaka, Ulinzi Stars, Bidco United, and KCB FC.

These are decisive encounters that could shape the club’s final standing.

Currently sitting fifth on 47 points, level with Kakamega Homeboyz, Shabana remain within touching distance of the top three.

However, the loss of their attacking focal point presents a considerable challenge as they seek to maintain momentum in the closing stages of the campaign.
