The Homa Bay-based side, in only their second season in the second-tier, are making a clear bid for automatic promotion to the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL).

Amunike arrives at MOFA in scintillating form, having already netted eight goals this season.

His most recent strike came last weekend, when he calmly converted a late penalty for the Kawangware-based outfit in a 1-1 draw against fellow promotion contenders 3K FC at Embu Stadium.

The forward's proven scoring ability adds considerable firepower to MOFA’s attack as they chase the top spot.

The move signals MOFA’s solid ambition to mount a serious challenge for promotion.

Currently sitting third in the 20-team league standings with 32 points, the Harambee Stars captain, Michael Olunga-backed side trails leaders Migori Youth by just four points, keeping them firmly in contention.

The club’s management has clearly signalled its intent to strengthen the squad at every opportunity to maximize their promotion chances.

Amunike joins a growing list of quality signings, following the acquisition of former Shabana FC forward Vincent Nyabuto.

Nyabuto made an immediate impact on his debut, scoring a penalty in a 1-1 draw against Nzoia Sugar FC at Jomo Kenyatta Stadium, Mamboleo.

Together, the duo promises a formidable attacking partnership capable of turning MOFA’s ambitions into reality.

"Joshua Amunike joins the herd! With 8 goals to his name so far, Amunike, who joins us from Nairobi City Stars, adds to The White Rhinos’ firepower as the #RoadToFKFPL intensifies," the club announced on their social media platforms.

Amunike brings a wealth of experience to the Homa Bay side, having previously turned out for Darajani Gogo, 3K FC, and FC Talanta.

His arrival not only boosts MOFA’s goal-scoring potential but also injects leadership and experience crucial for a side aiming to ascend to the top tier in just their second season.
