Roma complete two signings in a day

Roma's struggles in the transfer market this year are just ridiculous. The club's inability to find a new striker to replace the injured Tammy Abraham has been haunting Jose Mourinho for months. The Portuguese coach didn't shy away from public expressions of frustration. So what has the club done to appease him? They brought in two more midfielders!

Argentine Leandro Paredes and Portuguese Renato Sanches arrived at Stadio Olimpico on the same day.' permanent move to Roma has been confirmed. The Argentine midfielder has returned to the capital city as a permanent team member, departing PSG. The transfer is estimated to be valued at around $2.7 million. He has inked a contract that extends until June 2025, binding him to the Stadio Olimpico.

Having spent the previous season on loan at Juventus, the 29-year-old has returned to the capital. During his earlier stint with Roma from 2014 to 2017, he scored four goals in 54 competitive matches for the Giallorossi.

"Returning to Rome is always a special thing, but doing so now as a Roma player is even more special. I'd like to thank the fans for welcoming me and Roma for returning me to the club where I launched my career in Europe. Last year was a pleased one for me with the World Cup, so now I want to keep tasting success, and I'm convinced I can do just that with this team."

I Giallorossi have also confirmed the signing of Renato Sanches from PSG on loan with an 'obligation to buy if certain conditions are met.' Roma officially communicated that Sanches had become part of the team through a loan agreement, which includes an obligation to purchase based on specific conditions. Numerous sources suggest that Roma holds the option to secure the midfielder's permanent move for $16 million at the conclusion of the season.

"I'm so happy to have joined this huge club. The Roma project really won me over and I feel that playing here is the right choice for me. It's so important for any player to feel the fans' support. For me on my first day, the impact that I felt helped me understand how much these supporters love the team and that can only drive me forward to give my all to achieve success here."

Roma's sporting director Tiago Pino hopes Renato's talent finally shines through in the Eternal City.

"Renato Sanches is a player that we've been following for a long time. Despite that, he's still a young player, and he's developed the habit of achieving success in every competition, both at club and international level. Renato has the technical and physical qualities to see him slot seamlessly into our midfield, making it even more competitive."

The pair of midfielders join Hossem Aouar, who joined Roma from Lyon, as well as Evan Ndicka from Frankfurt and Rasmus Kristiansen from Leeds. And strikers? We don't talk about strikers!
