Musingu High School’s prolific attacker Marvin Ashiundu is set to take his football career to Europe once he completes his KCSE exams later this year, head coach Brenden Mwinamo has revealed.
Ashiundu was one of the standout performers in this year’s school games, thanks to his skills and consistency from the county level all the way to the East Africa School Games.
Despite Musingu losing both the national final to St. Joseph’s Boys Kitale and the East Africa final to Uganda’s Bekedea, the forward’s contributions through goals and assists cemented his reputation as one of Kenya’s brightest young prospects.
According to coach Mwinamo, the youngster has already attracted interest from clubs in France and Sweden, and could head abroad directly without featuring in the Kenyan leagues.
“He has been scouted in Europe and the scouts are simply waiting for him to finish his secondary education before he makes the move. The boy is a joy to watch for any football lover,” Mwinamo told Citizen Digital.
The veteran coach praised Ashiundu’s blend of natural talent, discipline, and hard work, tipping him for even greater success in the years ahead.
“He is naturally gifted, disciplined, and works hard to improve both in training and matches. Remember, he is still very young, so I believe he has a very bright future in the game,” he added.
Mwinamo also paid tribute to the school’s management and KCB Bank, who have been bankrolling the team, crediting their support for Musingu’s rise into a football powerhouse in Kakamega and across Western Kenya.
“The school management, KCB, our partners, and the fans have all played a crucial role in pushing us forward. I pray that spirit continues forever,” he said.
Meanwhile, Musingu has already embarked on rebuilding for next year’s school games, with fresh talent being recruited from other schools to strengthen the squad.
