There is hope for the big clubs that they can acquire the French sensation
Chelsea and Manchester United are witnessing big changes, new eras are beginning at both Old Trafford and Stamford Bridge. Erik ten Hag is the new manager of the Red Devils while Todd Boehly and his associates are new owners of the London Blues. And in such circumstances, it is not surprising to expect these clubs to make some massive moves on the transfer market. There is a target both English powerhouses are monitoring (and other European giants) and his name is Christopher Nkunku.
Several top European sides have been linked with the RB Leipzig star after an extraordinary season that saw him score 35 goals in all competitions for the German side.
And to heat things up, Nkunku has placed his former club Paris Saint-Germain alongside with Chelsea and Manchester United on high alert after revealing he is 'flattered' by transfer interest in him. Similar to Man United and Chelsea, the Parisian Saints could also face a major overhaul with Mauricio Pochettino and Leonardo leaving the club.
Nkunku also wants everyone to know the upcoming Qatar World Cup is a major factor in his decision-making process.
'It's no secret. There are clubs interested in me. It's flattering, but it's also flattering to have a club like Leipzig do everything to keep me as well.' Nkunku told Telefoot.
'I'll have to reflect well and make a decision. The World Cup is on the way and that's another factor to take into account.'
Nkunku is under contract with RB Leipzig until 2024 and despite all the speculation, the Red Bulls are said to have no intention of selling their prized asset this summer. With two years left on his current deal, it would seemingly take a sizeable offer to get him out of the German club, who have qualified for the Champions League next season.

According to French publication L'Equipe, Chelsea could be the first club to bid for the forward, with the west London outfit reported long-term admirers of the player.
Interestingly, Newcastle, spurred on by their rich Saudi Public Investment Fund backers, are said to also be keen, although it is reported they would currently not be the player's first-choice destination.
Nkunku has made three senior appearances for France and clearly has his sights set on a spot at the Qatar World Cup later this year. He had his first national team assist for Karim Benzema against Denmark on Friday.
