Dimba Patriots edged Kibera Black Stars 2-0 in a rescheduled National Super League (NSL) fixture played on Wednesday at Hope Centre Grounds, Nairobi.

The match week 20 clash was brought forward after the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) suspended Patriots' fixtures following a court battle with Mwatate United over the legality of the merger between the duo.

Determined to bounce back from last weekend’s defeat, coach Idd Shikanda named an unchanged squad from the Nairobi United match while Kibera made two amends from the team that juggled against Mully Children Family (MCF FC) on Saturday.

After a goalless first half, Dimba opened the scoring through their lead scorer Last Young in the 48th minute to extend Moses Onyango’s charges wait for a clean to eight matches.

Young doubled the Wolves' lead in the 61st minute to take the game far from Kibera’s reach and condemn the side to a third consecutive league defeat while leaving them with a single win in the last five NSL games.

The win not only moved THE Patriots to tenth on the log with 32 points but also ended their three-match wait for a clean sheet.

The Kibera-housed Stars will have a chance to redeem themselves on Saturday when they face relegation-fighting Silibwet Leons at Vapour Grounds, Ngong while Dimba takes on Vihiga Bullets in the next assignment.

FKF Division One rescheduled match results

Michael Olunga Football Academy's (MOFA) dream of gracing the second tier received a major boost on Wednesday afternoon following a statement 3-0 win over Vegpro FC at the Longonot Horticultural Grounds.

Former Young Bulls attacker Alex Mwalimu grabbed a brace to take his season tally to five goals in five games while January signing from NSL side Migori Youth Fredrick Odhiambo rounded up the scores for the Kassim Otieno-coached side.

The win elevated MOFA to second place on 45 points a point behind leaders APS Bomet, however, with a game in hand.
