It was a largely dull encounter, with both sides struggling to create clear-cut opportunities.

MOFA dominated possession at times, but 3K FC defended resolutely, making it difficult for the hosts to break through.

Striker Nyabuto Vincent was the standout performer for MOFA, lively and constantly probing the 3K defence, but he failed to convert the chances that came his way, leaving the match scoreless deep into the second half.

The decisive moment arrived following the introduction of former 3K FC striker Joshua Amunike, who made his MOFA debut in the 78th minute.

Amunike nearly scored with his first touch, showing immediate intent, before winning a penalty just two minutes later after being fouled in the box.

He stepped up and calmly converted from the spot, celebrating against his former side in a moment of personal triumph.

The goal was the second time in under a week that Amunike had punished 3K, having scored against them last weekend while playing for Nairobi City Stars prior to completing his move to MOFA.

His contribution ensured MOFA claimed all three points and moved closer to the summit of the table.

The victory extended Charles Bruno’s side’s unbeaten run to 12 matches, showing their consistency and determination in the title race.

MOFA now sit just a point behind league leaders Migori Youth, a position they will look to strengthen in the coming fixtures.

For 3K, the disappointment continued as they remain winless in four matches, drawing one and losing three.

Their recent defeats to Naivas, Fortune Sacco, and now MOFA, alongside a draw against Nairobi City Stars, have seen them drop to seventh on the standings with 28 points, leaving them desperate for a breakthrough win.
