Ex Mathare tactician says he has already been approached clubs interested in his services.

Immediate former Mathare United head coach Salim Ali has revealed that he has already been contacted by interested clubs barely two days after he got dismissed by the Slum Boys.

Ali was on Monday shown the door by his boyhood club over a poor run in the league that sees the team rock bottom in the table with just 7 points after 15 league matches. Former Wazito FC, and KCB head coach Frank Ouna has since been named the new Mathare United coach.

The tactician had earlier been linked with a move away from Mathare with Bandari and Gor Mahia all interested in acquiring his services as an assistant coach. He however opted to stay put at Mathare. Many however believe that the current poor form being witnessed at the club is down to the uncertainty that surrounded his future at the club.

In an interview with KTN, he disclosed that already a local club has rung him enquiring over his availability but added that he will take time to consider things.

“Already one team has approached me. They are asking if it’s true that I have been fired and if I am available. But I have to relax first, decide the amount of time that I will take off before I decide to resume coaching duties,” he stated.

Salim, a former Mathare United player has previously coached Wazito FC, Sofapaka FC, and Ulinzi Stars.
