If you find yourself riding in an Uber in Rome, check out your driver. It may be a once-popular Serie A player
Whoever takes an Uber in Rome these days may be in for a grand surprise, as they may be chauffeured by a well-known football name - Max Tonetto.
But why would a once-renowned Serie A player, who wore jerseys of AC Milan, Bologna, Empoli, Sampdoria, and Lecce (among others), left a mark with AS Roma, and even made an appearance for the Italy national team, become an Uber driver after such a respectable playing career?

Negative reasons, such as debts or bankruptcy, first come to mind, but fortunately, neither is the case with Tonetto. On the contrary, he's driving now to secure a peaceful and bright future in business.
Namely, according to La Repubblica, the 51-year-old plans to open an NCC (chauffeur-driven car rental) company, and one of the conditions is that he accumulates a specific number of hours behind the wheel as a driver.
Hence, a two-time Coppa Italia winner is practically investing in his future by working an ordinary job.
In the end, Tonetto's case could be an example to everyone. If a former football star and a wealthy man can make a sacrifice and work hard for a better future, everyone can. There's no excuse.
