Out of nearly 750 clubs in all the top tiers in Europe, there's only one that has yet to taste the bitterness of a league defeat

The governing body of European football, UEFA, includes 55 top-tier national leagues with approximately 730-750 clubs in total.

However, only one of them still has a chance to finish the league campaign without a single defeat, and you don't have to guess twice which manager is capable of achieving something like that. It's enough to say: The Special One.

Jose Mourinho's Benfica is currently the only unbeaten team in all European top divisions!

Until two days ago, the Czech side, Slavia Prague, was also in contention, but they fell short to Hradec Kralove (2-1), leaving the Portuguese as the only candidates for "The Invincibles" title. Truth be told, the club from Faroe Islands, KI Klaksvik, deserved an honourable mention, as they won the title in the previous edition of the Faroese Premier League (played between March and October 2025) undefeated, with 23 wins and four draws.

Back to Benfica...

Mou's crew did suffer defeats in the Champions League and the national cup, but not in the Liga Portugal. In fact, the Eagles last lost a league game in the 19th round of the previous edition, on January 25, 2025, when Casa Pia beat them at home 3-1. Back then, Mourinho's predecessor, Bruno Lage, was on Benfica's bench.

Nevertheless, even though they are four games away from achieving an exceptional accomplishment and finishing the league campaign without a single defeat (21 wins and 9 losses), the Eagles aren't likely to win the title, as Porto has a seven-point lead at the moment.

In the final four rounds, Benfica face Moreirense and Braga at Estadio da Luz, and Famalicao and Estoril on the road.

Hence, the goal of invincibility is highly achievable, and even if it doesn't bring any silverware, Mourinho will have another reason to brag and be proud of.
