Valverde and Tchouameni are fined €500,000 each. The club announced that they both expressed sincere regret and apologised to everyone

Real Madrid have fined Federico Valverde and Aurelien Tchouameni €500,000 each following their dressing-room altercation at the club's training ground.

The club confirmed both players appeared before a disciplinary hearing on Friday, where they expressed what Madrid described as "total repentance" and apologised to one another, as well as to teammates, coaching staff, club officials and supporters.

"In view of these circumstances, Real Madrid has decided to impose a financial penalty of five hundred thousand euros on each player, thus concluding the corresponding internal procedures," the club said in an official statement.

The incident reportedly began during Thursday's training session after a heavy challenge from Valverde on Tchouameni escalated tensions between the two midfielders. According to reports, the disagreement continued into the dressing room, where a verbal confrontation turned physical.

During the altercation, Valverde fell and struck his head on a table inside the changing room. The Uruguay international was later taken to hospital for medical examinations, with the club confirming he suffered "cranioencephalic traumatism."

Los Blancos added that the 27-year-old is in good condition but is expected to miss between 10 and 14 days as part of concussion protocols.

The clash was reportedly the second confrontation between the pair in the space of two days, coming just ahead of Real Madrid's upcoming El Clasico against Barcelona.

The incident also adds to growing tensions behind the scenes at Madrid in recent weeks. Earlier this month, Antonio Rudiger apologised after a heated dressing-room dispute with a teammate, while Kylian Mbappe was also reportedly involved in an angry exchange with a member of staff before the draw against Real Betis in April.

Despite the seriousness of the incident, Madrid now considers the matter closed following the players' apologies and the financial sanctions imposed by the club.
