Bournemouth has for some time now become a factory for players who go on to continue their careers at even bigger clubs – after Semenyo, another one is up next
Barcelona and Atletico Madrid have both emerged as contenders for Bournemouth centre-back Marcos Senesi, Spanish media claim.
With his contract at the Vitality Stadium running out at the end of the season, Senesi will be free to negotiate a pre-contract with non-Premier League clubs from January. The 28-year-old Argentine is widely expected to move on after turning down multiple renewal proposals from Bournemouth.
🚨🇦🇷 Barcelona are monitoring Marcos Senesi’s situation — they don’t rule out enquiring his situation to bring him immediately for a cheap fee in the winter transfer window.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Atletico have now entered the picture alongside Barcelona, with both clubs keen to strengthen their defensive options ahead of next season. Barca, meanwhile, are also keeping tabs on Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi, whose deal expires in June 2026.
Senesi has been a mainstay under Andoni Iraola this campaign, featuring 17 times and establishing himself as a pillar of Bournemouth’s back line. The Cherries could also face further disruption, as winger Antoine Semenyo looks set to depart.
Manchester City are leading the chase for Semenyo, who is valued at 65 million pounds in the January window, though his release clause runs out in the second week of the month. While Manchester United and Chelsea have shown interest, the Ghana international is understood to favour a switch to Pep Guardiola’s side.
