The quartet of: Austin Odhiambo, Felix Oluoch, Fidel Origa and Joshua Onyango, survived the early-morning crash.

According to reports, the vehicle owned by Origa, but driven by Odhiambo, developed brake failure during the short trip to Nyayo Stadium.

The car is said to have veered off the road and struck a roadside barricade as Odhiambo attempted to regain control.

Emergency responders and passers-by swiftly rushed the players to AAR BuruBuru Hospital, where they were treated for minor injuries and later discharged.

In an official update, the club confirmed the incident, assuring fans of the players’ safety.

Four of our players, Austine, Fidel, Joshua and Felix were involved in an accident this morning en route to training. All four were treated for minor injuries at a hospital and discharged. They are all fine,” the club stated.

Speaking to Mozzart Sport, Gor Mahia assistant captain Michael Kibwage explained that the team was already assembled at Nyayo Stadium when the news broke.

“We had just arrived for training and waiting for them before we learnt of the unfortunate accident. Immediately, the coach called off the session,” he said.

With the Mashemeji Derby postponed to Sunday, 7 December, Gor Mahia had planned to intensify their preparations this weekend.

The incident, however, brought training to an abrupt halt, though relief sweeps across the K’Ogalo fraternity as all four players escaped without serious harm.
