Bajaber has endured a difficult spell since joining Simba, struggling with recurring injuries. He returned to action in January during the Mapinduzi Cup and even scored once, but later suffered another setback that ruled him out for several weeks.
Reports had suggested that Simba were open to letting the player return to Kenya on loan for the second half of the season, with Kenya Police FC and Nairobi United reportedly interested. However, the move failed to materialise, and Bajaber remains part of Wekundu wa Msimbazi’s squad.
The forward will now be hoping to put his injury troubles behind him and relaunch his career in Tanzania.
Asked whether Bajaber remains in his plans, Barker, who was appointed Simba coach in January, praised the player’s quality.
“Mohammed is a good player, and good players will always be in our plans,” Barker said.
The coach also provided an update on the attacker’s fitness, confirming that he has resumed full training and could soon feature in competitive matches, especially after Simba’s exit from the CAF Champions League group stage.
“He is fine. He is training and has been in full training after being out for two to three weeks,” Barker added.
Bajaber joined Simba last August following an impressive half-season with Kenya Police FC, where he helped the club win the league and earned his breakthrough into the national team.
He had joined the Law Enforcers from Nairobi City Stars in January 2025 and went on to play a key role in their historic maiden league title.
