The Kenyan forward officially completed his move to the Durban-based outfit last week, bringing to an end a hugely successful spell in Zambia where he established himself as one of the region's most lethal forwards.

However, his anticipated start to life in the South African Premiership has been overshadowed by reports surrounding his delayed arrival.

Power Dynamos confirmed Shumah's departure in an official statement after reaching an agreement with AmaZulu for the transfer.

"Power Dynamos Football Club (PDFC) wishes to announce the departure of striker Moses Shumah from the club. Shumah has completed a transfer to South African Premier Soccer League (PSL) side AmaZulu FC after the club reached an agreement with the Durban-based outfit.

Although he had a year remaining on his contract, the striker has opted to join the South African outfit," the club announced, revealing the completion of the transfer.

Despite the deal being officially confirmed, reports emerging from Zambia indicate that the transfer has encountered unexpected complications behind the scenes.

According to multiple reports, Shumah and his representatives have delayed completing the final stages of the move over an alleged disagreement regarding a percentage of the transfer proceeds.

It is claimed that the striker is yet to receive an agreed share of the transfer fee from his former club, prompting him to withhold his arrival in South Africa.

The reports further state that AmaZulu fulfilled their obligations by paying the full transfer fee agreed with Power Dynamos, leaving the South African club increasingly frustrated over the prolonged delay.

With the team's pre-season preparations already underway, AmaZulu are said to be growing concerned over the striker's continued absence, with reports suggesting the club is considering escalating the matter to FIFA should the situation remain unresolved.

Neither AmaZulu, Power Dynamos, nor the player's representatives have publicly commented on the latest developments.

Shumah joined AmaZulu following a remarkable campaign in Zambia, where he cemented his reputation as one of the league's standout performers.

The 2024/25 FKF Premier League Golden Boot winner left Power Dynamos with a year remaining on his initial two-year contract after playing a pivotal role in the club's historic back-to-back Zambia Super League triumphs.

He also enjoyed an exceptional individual campaign, finishing as the league's top scorer with a record 21 goals in his maiden season in Zambia, underlining his importance to the champions.

His prolific form earned him a move to South Africa, with AmaZulu beating competition for his signature as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.

Usuthu, who finished fourth in last season's Premiership standings, have already resumed pre-season training as they seek to build on their impressive league finish and challenge for continental qualification once again.
