Scriven played the entire match on Saturday and got on the scoresheet as Bryne secured their second win of the campaign under coach Ørjan Heiberg, who was facing his former club, where he previously served as assistant coach.
The entertaining OBOS-ligaen clash burst into life in the 32nd minute when Scriven fired the hosts ahead before Luka Fajfric restored parity for Strømmen six minutes later.
Bryne regained control on the stroke of halftime through Dadi Gaye before Nicklas Strunck extended the lead in the 71st minute.
Nikola Hristov briefly threatened a comeback for the visitors with a late strike, but Strunck completed his brace deep into stoppage time to seal the six-goal thriller.
Scriven’s all-round display earned him the match reward of five crates of eggs, continuing Bryne’s now-famous tradition of handing players farm produce prizes after standout performances.
The Kenyan international, who made his Harambee Stars debut in March 2023, produced an energetic attacking display throughout the encounter.
He registered two shots on target and was caught offside once while also impressing with his link-up play.
The 28-year-old completed 17 of his 20 passes, including one accurate cross, and maintained an 83 percent passing success rate in the opposition half.
The forward, born to an English father and a Kenyan mother, was equally effective on the ball, completing 4 of his 6 dribbles and recording 46 touches during the match.
Defensively, Scriven also put in a shift, contributing an interception and two clearances.
He won eight ground duels and another eight aerial duels, which showed his physical presence in the contest despite being fouled once and dribbled past twice.
This season, Scriven has featured in six of Bryne’s seven league matches, starting four of them.
He has now scored twice this campaign, with his recent purple patch seeing Bryne climb from the relegation zone to 12th place on the table with seven points from seven matches.
