Marcelo played full ninety minutes in team's 2-0 win while Johanna Omollo featured in a crucial win for his Erzurum side
Harambee Stars left back Eric ‘Marcelo’ Ouma kept a second league clean sheet today as his AIK team defeated Hammarby IF 2-0 in matchday three of the Swedish top tier Allsvenskan league.
The match, played at the Friends Arena in Solna, witnessed two goals scored in either halves to hand Marcelo’s club the three points that ensured the team returned back to winning ways after losing their previous fixture.
The former Gor Mahia player who was named in the starting eleven on the day managed to get a full ninety minutes under his belt in the match. It was the home team, AIK, that went into the half time break smiling down the tunnels as Nicolas Marcelo Stefanneli opened the scoring just two minutes to the interval. Forward Nabil Bahoui doubled AIK’s lead in the 77th minute after being setup by Sebastian Larsson, a goal that sealed all the three points for the home team and a second victory after three games.
With the win, AIK moved to fifth position on six points. Hammarby’s second loss of the season saw the team stay in 10th position.
Johanna Omolo
Johanna Omolo got sixty nine minutes of action as his Erzurum BB side secured a 3-2 win over Gaziantep that handed them a lifeline when it comes to their chances of survival as the Turkish season draws to a close.
Ricardo Gomes and Hasan Hatipoglu scored two goals for the visiting Erzurum in a space of five minutes in the 54th and 59th minute. Muhammet Demir pulled one back for the home team but Rahman Cagiran added a third for Omolo’s Erzurum in the 83rd minute. Gazientep’s Demir sealed his brace in the 90th minute of the game but that second goal was not enough as the damage had already been done.
With the win, Erzurum moved to 18th on the log just one point short of coming out of the relegation places.
Richard Odada
Kenyan player Richard Odada was not included in the matchday squad as his FK Crvena zvezda side handed FK Indjija a heavy 5-1 thumping to cement their place at the top of the Serbian Super Liga.
