For Francis Kahata, the curtains at Simba SC have closed and the focus is already at his next destination, with speculations rife that the former Gor Mahia midfielder could be on his way to Sudan's giants Al-Merrikh Sporting Club.
The former Thika United player had a stellar first season at the Tanzanian club, being an integral part of the title-winning squad.
Harambee Stars midfielder, Francis Kahata confirms that he has parted ways with Tanzanian giants, Simba SC after the expiry of his contract.

However, his second season has been nothing like the first one as he was struck off the league register earlier in January following the arrival of Perfect Chikwende thus limiting his playing time.
Since then, he has featured in only a handful of CAF Champions League matches until they were bundled out by Kaizer Chiefs in the quarter-final.
Despite the limited playing time, Kahata heaped praises on Simba's French coach Didier Gomes as well as the club's management for the chance to represent Wekundu Wa Msimbazi
Kahata's career at Simba has been colourful as he won a number of trophies and even a personal accolade, kick-starting it on a high by winning three trophies in his first season.

His contract runs out in some few days time.

Kahata made a total of 46 appearances for Simba, contributing to 16 goals where he scored seven and set up nine others.
The former Gor Mahia player who joined Simba on the Bosman rule has four winners medals with Simba. He won the Tanzanian Premier League in his maiden season, won the Charity Shield two times beating Azam in 2019 and Namungo in 2020, and also won the Federation Cup in 2020.
The Kenyan international was named the Vodacom Premier League Player of the Month by the Tanzanian Football Federation for the month of December in 2019, pocketing 50,000 Kenya shillings. In that month, he had scored two goals in three matches and assisted two others.
