Victory for Mara Sugar will push them to the top half of the table, while three points for Tusker will boost their chances of a top-five finish

Twelve-time Football Kenya Federation Premier League champions, Tusker, will hope to bounce back to winning ways when they take on Mara Sugar on Friday at the Police Sacco Grounds.

Tusker were shockingly held to a barren draw by the free-falling Sofapaka in their last encounter, one many had predicted would be a big win for them.

The beer makers take on Mara, who are on the back of a 1-0 win over Kariobangi Sharks and unbeaten in their last three matches.

Ahead of the 2 pm encounter, Tusker head coach Julien Mette insists that the team will not only be out to win but also to keep a clean sheet.

“I am looking for players with hunger because we need to get the three points that we missed in our last match, and hopefully we get that together with a clean sheet.

We must play with motivation and hunger, something we missed in our last match, which, in my opinion, was our worst performance since I joined the club,” he said in an interview with club media.

Victory for the visitors will push them to the top half of the table, while three points for Tusker will boost their chances of a top-five finish.

Meanwhile, the relegation-battling Bidco United will take on Posta Rangers at Kasarani Annex from 4 pm.

Bidco have 22 points to their name and will hope to win the encounter to breathe life into their fast-dying hopes of survival.

The Thika-based club has not won its past five matches, including three consecutive defeats in last three matches.

Posta, on the other hand, have lost four of their last four matches, including three in the Premier League, and will be equally targeting a return to winning ways.
