The match was a balanced affair in its opening stages, with Ulinzi trying to have control of possession while the Kisumu-based Kisped opted to stay solid at the back.

By the half hour mark, the hosts started exerting their dominance, with Mercy Airo and Joy Kinglady coming close.

The Collins Ochieng-coached side finally found the breakthrough in the 34th minute through Linda Okoside.

In the second half, the floodgates of goals opened in the 56th minute when Lorine Ilavonga doubled Ulinzi’s lead with a well taken header.

The soldiers were back at it a minute later, punishing the visibly demoralized Kisped side through Akinyi before Jackline Chesang also registered her name on the scoresheet in the 65th minute.

At the Moi Stadium in Kisumu, Kisumu Allstarlets blew a two-goal advantage at the break to draw 2-2 with Madira Soccer Assassins.

Monica Etot and Wnne Moraa had all benefitted from Daisy Sitei’s assists to give the hosts a 2-0 lead at the ,before Valerie Nekesa and an own goal by Allstarlets ensured the spoils were shared.
