All eyes will be on the top-of-the-table clash between Kenya Police Bullets and Ulinzi Starlets, while Vihiga Queens take on Kayole Starlets in the other match of the day.
Heading into the fixtures, Police Bullets sit at the summit with 46 points, just two ahead of Ulinzi Starlets on 44, with Trinity Starlets placed third on 37 points.
At the other end, the relegation battle remains tight, with Kisumu All Starlets rooted at the bottom on -10 points and Kisped Queens on -5, while Homa Bay-based Gideon Starlets sit just above the drop zone with 17 points.
Kenya Police Bullets will face Ulinzi Starlets at the Ulinzi Sports Complex from 1300 hrs in what has grown into the biggest fixture in Kenyan women’s football in recent seasons.
Since Police Bullets earned promotion two seasons ago, the rivalry between the two sides has intensified, fuelled by the identity of their parent institutions, with Ulinzi backed by the military and Police Bullets by the National Police Service.
However, this encounter carries even greater significance, with the title race hanging in the balance.
Police Bullets are chasing a historic third consecutive league title in just their first three seasons in the top flight, while Ulinzi Starlets are equally determined to reclaim their dominance in the league.
With only two points separating the sides, the winner could take a decisive step towards the title in what promises to be a fiercely contested battle.
Elsewhere, Vihiga Queens will host Kayole Starlets at Nyang’ori High School grounds in Kiboswa, also from 1300 hrs.
Vihiga Queens, who have endured a challenging season both on and off the pitch, will be targeting a win that could lift them from fifth place and potentially leapfrog Kibera Soccer Women.
Kayole Starlets, currently seventh with 22 points, will be aiming to close the gap on Zetech Sparks with a positive result on the road.
