Trinity Starlets are set to battle it out with Zetech Sparks as Kayole Starlets play host to Ulinzi Starlets

The FKF Women's Premier League (WPL) makes a return after a three-week hiatus occasioned by Harambee Starlets’ preparations for the now postponed Women's Africa Cup of Nation (WAFCON) even as uncertainty looms on whether the matches will take place.

In matches scheduled for today, Saturday 14 March, Trinity Starlets are set to battle it out with Zetech Sparks as Kayole Starlets play host to Ulinzi Starlets.

However, a dark cloud hangs over this weekend's fixtures as clubs continue to insist that they will boycott matches until they get an audience from FKF and their grievances addressed.

As the league returns, Kenya Police Bullets are still at the summit of the league table with 31 points despite having two games in hand.

Kenyan giants Vihiga Queens are second with 30 points as Ulinzi Starlets close the top three with 29 points.

The relegation zone continues to be a Nyanza affair with Kisumu All Starlets sitted bottom of the log with -4 points, two less than their Kisumu neighbours Kisped Queens as Homa Bay’s Gideon Starlets join them with 17 points.

Trinity Starlets vs Zetech Sparks

Trinity Starlets will make a long awaited return to action with a clash against varsity side Zetech Sparks at the Comboni Polytechnic Grounds from noon.

While Zetech were active in the last match week, Trinity have been inactive for over a month with their last match being their 1-0 victory over Kisped Queens on 8 February.

Zetech on the other hand secured a 2-0 victory on 21 February having benefitted from a walkover issued against Kisumu All Starlets.

The varsity side is fourth on the log with 28 points and will face an inconsistent Trinity Starlets who are equally on 28 points.

Kayole Starlets vs Ulinzi Starlets

In the other scheduled match of the day, Kayole Starlets will lock horns with military side Ulinzi Stars at the Stima Grounds from 1100 hrs.

Ulinzi are third on the log and fancy their title chances while Kayole are seventh on the league table with 25 points.

However, the match is highly unlikely to take place as Kayole have indicated that they do not have a match through their social media pages.
