
National Term Two School Games land new sponsorship worth 20 million shillings

KCB Bank has put KSh20 million into the Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) Term Two Games as the Title and Kit Sponsor, reaffirming its commitment to nurturing young talent while championing clean energy in learning institutions across the country.

Out of this, KSh12 million will go directly to the association for the purchase of kits and trophies, while the remaining KSh8 million will be used for activations during the regional and national finals scheduled from Monday, 6 July to Saturday, 1 August.
At the same time, KCB will leverage the competition as a platform to champion environmental conservation and educate students and communities on sustainable practices that can help conserve the environment, reduce carbon emissions, and create healthier learning environments.
Speaking during the cheque handover ceremony in Nairobi, KCB Group Chief Risk Officer, Faith Basiye said: "The sponsorship underscores KCB's long-standing commitment to developing sports as a catalyst for nurturing future champions while creating opportunities for them to showcase their talent, build lifelong values and pursue excellence. As a Bank, we are proud to be part of this rich legacy."
From a participation perspective, the support will be directed towards the national finals, which will bring together top schools from all eight regions across the country.
The competitions will kick off in the Rift Valley Region at Narok High School from Monday, 6 to Saturday, 1 July, followed by the Nyanza Region at Homa Bay High School, and the Nairobi Region at Jamhuri High School from Tuesday, 7 to Saturday, 11 July.
The Coast, Eastern and Western regional finals will take place from Wednesday, 8 to Saturday, 11 July, hosted at Kwale High School, Makueni High School and Bungoma High School respectively, while the Central Region finals will be held at MPESA Academy from Thursday, 9 to Saturday, 11 July.
The regional competitions will conclude with the North Eastern Region finals in Tabaka, Mandera, scheduled for Monday, 20 to Wednesday 22 July.
This will culminate in the National Finals, which will be held at the MPESA Academy on Tuesday, 28 July to Saturday, 1 August, marking the end of the competitive two month-long event.
On his part, the Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) Secretary General, David Ngugi, noted: “The Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association appreciates KCB Bank for its continued commitment to the growth of school sports in Kenya. This sponsorship is a significant investment in our learners, providing them with an opportunity to compete, develop their talents and build values such as discipline, teamwork and resilience."
The Term Two games will see various schools go head-to-head in different sports disciplines, including football (Boys and Girls), Volleyball (Boys and Girls), Netball (Girls), Basketball 3x3 (Boys and Girls), Rugby 7’s (Boys and Girls), Badminton (Boys and Girls), Table Tennis (Boys and Girls), Lawn Tennis (Boys and Girls), Chess (Boys and Girls), Scrabble (Boys and Girls), Cricket, Lacrosse, Beach volleyball and Baseball.
