A spirited fight from Team Kenya led by Pamela Adhiambo was not enough to shake the world's number 3

Malkia Strikers will have to dig deep on Saturday to restore their chances of clinching a first Olympic game win after losing their second Group B match against Poland by three straight sets (25-14, 25-17, 25-15) at Sports Arena 1 on Wednesday night.

Kenya got off to a poor start after losing 3-0 to Brazil in their opening match and now must defeat Japan in their final preliminary match to stand a chance of recording a maiden Olympic victory.

The 10-time African champions could not match the impressive form of the two-time Olympic bronze medalists.

Despite starting the first set brightly, the Japheth Munala-coached side lost grit after allowing a comeback from the two-time FIVB Women's Volleyball Nations League bronze medalists.

A spirited fight from Team Kenya led by Pamela Adhiambo was not enough to shake the world's number 3 as they rallied on to win the match with ease, as they did in the opener against Japan when they came from a set down to emerge victorious.

The win saw the Polish extend their winning streak over Kenya to three from three meetings. The Kenyans are now without a win in their last five outings.

Poland leads Pool B with six points from two matches while Kenya sits at the bottom of the table with zero points.
