Prisons and Pipeline now have two wins from their opening two games.
Kenya Prisons women’s volleyball team and the Kenya Pipeline maintained their perfect start at the ongoing Confederation of African Volleyball (CAVB) Women's Club Championship currently taking place in Kelibia, Tunisia as they recorded their second consecutive wins in day two of the tournament.
Prisons defeated Ethiopian side National Alcohol in straight sets after collecting a 25-10, 25-17, 25-9 victory over their opponents to enhance their chances of topping pool C. The Josp Barasa coached side, who are the Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) women's league champions, had served off their title quest with victory over Chief Naval of Nigeria in their group opener (25-9, 25-18, 25-20).
Former champions Kenya Pipeline also made it two wins from two as they beat El Wak Wings 25-19,25-17,25-22 building on their opening victory over Customs of Nigeria (25-19, 25-18, 25-9).
While the two teams enjoyed victories in their day 2 performances, Japheth Munala’s KCB stumbled in their second match as they could not outwit CF Carthage of Tunisia, who are the defending champions. The KVF silver medalists however forced the game into a fourth set as they lost 1-3 (20-25, 17-25, 25-13, 14-25).
KCB, who are drawn in a tricky pool ‘B’, had on Sunday defeated Mimosa of Ivory Coast 3-0 (25-13,25-12,25-10).
