Seahorses Aquatic Center dominate second edition of KSF-Kiambu Minnows Swimming Championships

KSF- Kiambu is also expected to hold their Annual General Meeting in July where new sponsors for their competitions are set to be announced
Seahorses Aquatic Center were crowned the overall winners of the second edition of the Kenya Swimming Federation - Kiambu County Minnows Swimming Championships that took place on the weekend of 10 -11 June 2023.
The team dominated both the boys and girls categories - clinching the titles with 382 and 319 points respectively in the event that attracted over 16 schools from the region.
Rounding up in the girls’ category medal positions, Water Warriors Swim Club came in second with 124 points with Woodcreek School third with 86 points.
The boys’ category result had two teams - Woodcreek School and Montessori Learning Center tied for second spot with 59 points - with Crawford International School placing fourth with 54 points.
In the individual results, the trio of Kaari Ngugi, Melissa Alala and Dayo Mbugua emerged the winners for Seahorses Aquatic Center in the 7 and 8-9 year categories in the 100m individual medley short course event.
Landsdown Zalera (Water Warriors Swim Club), Seth Githua (Lustars Swim Club), Fadhili Osunga (Seahorses Aquatic Center), Ella Kariuki (Crawford International School) and Pendo Nanjero (Otters Swim Club) on the other hand dominated in the age-group 25m butterfly events.
Sanay Shah (Montessori Learning Center) and Hilkah Makungu (Woodcreek School) were the standout names in the 25m backstroke event that had the overall winners Seahorses win the majority of the individual races.
Seahorses were once again winners of the 100m medley relay that saw Woodcreek and Crawford schools follow in second and third position, Premier School finishing fourth.
The event - coming at the back of the previous competition held at Braeburn School last March - rounded up as the last event of the season, with next term’s events penciled to resume in July this year.
In other news, ACK Memorial Church School - Thika made their debut in the championships after recently acquiring membership in the Kenya Swimming Federation - Kiambu Branch.
