The triumph handed the Bankers their eighth Christie 7s title and their second trophy of the season, further cementing their dominance on the local sevens circuit.

It was also the first time the two sides were clashing in a final since the 2024 Kabeberi 7s, where KCB also emerged victorious.

Heading into the final, KCB had already beaten Oilers twice this season; in the quarterfinals and semifinals, and they once again proved a step ahead, making the most of their third straight final appearance.

The Bankers got off to a flying start, with Floyd Wabwire slicing through the Oilers’ defence to score the opener.

Moments later, Festus Shiasi pounced on a loose ball from a ruck to double the lead, giving KCB a comfortable 12-0 cushion at halftime.

After the restart, Wabwire struck again with a brilliant individual effort, kicking ahead and chasing down to secure his brace and stretch the tally to 17-0.

Oilers managed a late consolation through Samuel Ovwamu, who dotted down their only try of the match, but it was too little, too late as KCB held firm to reclaim the Christie 7s crown.
