Nyangige is among eight new signings unveiled by the Bankers as they bolster their squad ahead of the 2026 National Sevens Circuit, which gets underway on Saturday, 25 July in Nakuru.
The versatile youngster, who can slot in at lock, scrum-half, and fly-half, joins from Impala RFC after months of uncertainty surrounding his transfer.
Earlier this year, Nyangige revealed that a proposed move to KCB had stalled following an alleged dispute over his release from Impala, a situation that eventually saw him train and feature with the Kenya Sevens team without being attached to any club.
His signing now closes one of Kenyan rugby's most talked-about transfer stories and gives KCB another exciting option ahead of the shortened sevens season.
Leading the club's list of new arrivals is Kenya Sevens international Nygel Amaitsa, who joins from Strathmore Leos and is expected to provide cover at fly-half and fullback.
The Bankers have also signed lock Timfox Esikuri and utility back Salano Hillary as free agents, while hooker Samson Mapesa arrives from Kisii RFC.
Other additions include fly-half/fullback Benson Kihiti from Kenya Prisons, tight-head prop Collins Ngoko from MMUST Rugby, and versatile forward Innocent Indeche Murunda from Kisumu RFC.
KCB head coach Andrew Amonde believes the recruits will strengthen competition within the squad as the club targets National Sevens Circuit success.
"We have brought in players who not only possess quality but also fit into the culture and playing philosophy of KCB Rugby.
They provide depth in key positions and healthy competition within the squad, which is critical as we prepare for the National Sevens Circuit," Amonde said.
"We are confident they will integrate well with the existing team and help us compete for honours this season,” he continued.
Amaitsa, one of the headline signings, said joining KCB represents an important milestone in his career.
"KCB Rugby is one of the biggest clubs in the country with a strong winning culture and high-performance environment. I'm excited to be part of this team and look forward to learning from the coaches and senior players while contributing to the club's success.
The focus now is on working hard and helping the team have a successful National Sevens Circuit,” the talented fly-half said.
KCB will head into the 2026 circuit aiming to reclaim the overall title they won last year in Kisumu.
