The former Homeboyz RFC and Kenya Sevens star, famous for his bone-crushing tackles and bruising hand-offs, is now engaged and settling into life in Canada with his partner.
The news broke subtly but sweetly on social media.
In an Instagram story posted by Ms Killion, Buffa’s now-fiancée, the couple shared their milestone with the caption: “Couples who work out together stay together.”
Buffa later reshared the post, confirming what fans had only speculated for months.
From her Instagram feed, Buffa’s partner seems to be a lover of the outdoors, often posting nature-inspired content rather than personal photos.
She keeps a low profile even as she now steps into the spotlight alongside one of Kenya’s rugby greats.
The love story may have started in 2022, the same year Buffa shocked many by stepping away from the national team setup, reportedly to pursue a new opportunity in Canada.
His unexpected absence saw him miss the 2022 Rugby World Cup Sevens in Cape Town, and his replacement was tough to come by.
His return to the squad in 2023 was short-lived, as he continued his life abroad, now clearly with someone special by his side.
Buffa’s legacy on the pitch remains undisputed. He made his Shujaa debut during the 2016 Hong Kong Sevens and went on to become one of the most consistent and feared players on the HSBC SVNS circuit.
Known for his physical style and try-scoring ability, he passed the 50-try mark during the 2023 Singapore Sevens, scoring against Spain in a match that saw Kenya scoop seven points and ultimately finish with ten points from the tournament.
He has made over 65 appearances for the national team and was named the LG/SJAK Sports Personality of the Year in 2021.
Buffa also played club rugby for Homeboyz RFC and later KCB RFC, where he made a name for himself before heading abroad.
