Shujaa faces a stiff challenge in Pool B, competing against powerhouse teams like second-seeded Argentina, Australia, and Samoa.

The Kenya Sevens squad for the 2024 Paris Olympics has been announced, with a thrilling mix of experience and fresh talent ready to make their mark on the world stage.

Co-captain Vincent Onyala, a fan favorite for his electrifying speed, will be making his second Olympic appearance after starring in Tokyo 2020.

Joining him is Herman Humwa, the Kenya Harlequin captain who also packs experience from the 2020 edition of the games.

The rest of the squad is hungry for their Olympic debut. Co-captain Tony Omondi, John Okoth, Kevin Wekesa, George Ooro, and Samuel Asati will be looking to make a splash in Paris.

Exciting new talents like Brian Tanga, Nigel Amaitsa, Patrick Odongo, Lamech Ambetsa, and Chrisant Ojwang will add speed and agility to the team.

Festus Shiasi and Dennis Abukuse provide valuable support as traveling reserves, ensuring a strong showing even if there are injuries.

New Zealand, the top seeds, headline Pool A alongside Ireland, South Africa, and Japan. Fiji, the two-time defending champions, are in Pool C with hosts France, the USA, and Uruguay.

For the first time ever, Rugby Sevens kicks off two days before the Paris Olympics opening ceremony.

The men's competition will see preliminary and quarterfinal stages on July 24th and 25th, with a short break for the ceremony before the medal matches on July 27th. The women's tournament follows a similar format, culminating in gold and bronze medal matches on July 30th.
